The six years are split into 3 pre-clinical and 3 clinical years

The first three years in the Charles University First Faculty of Medicine (of the master’s degree in General Medicine) focuses heavily on preclinical theoretical knowledge.

In the first year Anatomy and Histology are the centre of the pupil’s studies with a unique course in dissections with real life cadavers (one of the few universities to offer this). The second-year concentrates of Biochemistry and Physiology and finally the third year focuses on Pathology and Pathophysiology. The clinical years (4,5,6) involve an array of placements and practical hospital experience, that puts into effect the theoretical knowledge the medics have acquired.
